Family, friends, fine art and fine spirits!
Artwork over the bar: "Variation No. 1" 10x10" pastel, left; "Rocky Mt. Pass" 8x10" oil, right.
Later that week, singer "Warr" kept the regulars company as we all sang along and admired the artwork...

"Self-forgiveness"
Poem by Ginny Luedeman
No moments of failure when something was lost
No foolish decisions when treasures were tossed
I didn't mess up and forget God is here
I didn't make choices that made good disappear
I live in the care and the love of God's grace
There's no way I can move to a lesser-loved place
My keeping is not in the wisdom of man
But always secure in God's spiritual plan
I forgive all my yesterdays, visions unclear,
And hear my God telling me, "Child, you are dear."
No moments of failure when something was lost
No foolish decisions when treasures were tossed
I didn't mess up and forget God is here
I didn't make choices that made good disappear
I live in the care and the love of God's grace
There's no way I can move to a lesser-loved place
My keeping is not in the wisdom of man
But always secure in God's spiritual plan
I forgive all my yesterdays, visions unclear,
And hear my God telling me, "Child, you are dear."

Bamboo Meditation
Bamboo Meditation, photo by S'zanne Reynolds
I am not lonely. God is here.
Hand at my shoulder. Word in my ear.
The Lord is the shepherd who leads me down
to quiet pools and a soft green ground.
He feeds, restores, beholds, relieves me,
Shows the right road, then precedes me.
I am not lonely. God is here.
Strength for my going. Song in my ear.
Yea, though I cross the valley of dying,
I do not fear. I am not crying.
Thy rod for the beast, thy staff for my leaning,
thou art my comfort and thou my redeeming.
Thou art my present, beginning and ending,
the oil that I feel on my forehead descending,
the goodness that follows my every endeavor,
the temple I’ll dwell in forever and ever—
O lord, I am not lonely now,
for thou art with me, my shepherd—thou!

Phoenix in Flight
The Fall and Rise of the Phoenix, photo by S'zanne Reynolds
The Lord is the shepherd of my thoughts;
I shall not want for divine ideas.
He makes me rest in the awareness of my own divinity:
He leads me to the inner stillness.
He restores my soul to its inner purity:
He guides me in the right use of my powers and abilities.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of doubt,
I will fear no evil—for thou art with me;
Thy power and thy presence, they comfort me.
Thou preparest an unlimited blessing for me, in every situation:
Thou annointest my head with understanding;
My whole being is filled with the light of thy understanding.
Surely God’s ideas are mine all the days of my life:
And I shall dwell in this perfect awareness FOREVER.

Have you ever received a too good to be true email from someone who saw your art online and just can't wait to buy $1500 worth of art? It usually sounds like this:
He wants to buy your art for their apartment AND he's in a hurry so please send all your info so he can get you a payment! Riiiiiiiiiiight. (Why do these guys always want art for their apartment? Is it because they'd rather live in an apartment with art than an empty house?)
Or, their wife is about to give birth and he can't wait to buy original artwork now that the twins are on the way, right? Riiiiiiiiiight! (Like they can afford artwork after registering at Walmart?)
And, just in case you aren't sure...you can now research these Art Scammers by going to a blog called "Stop Art Scams". Be sure to give a small donation if you think it's helpful. It stopped me from becoming suckered in. I actually found my would-be art collector on the most recent post!
So do your research and be sure and contribute with your stories as well. Let's protect our hard work--no one else will!
PS. Most folks buy artwork from people they know or their friends. So widen your network and make lots of good friends. Friends are the real riches in life!
