Ring 'Round the Rosy, 12x12" pastel by S'zanne Reynolds
I'm so pleased to announce that my pastel, Ring 'Round the Rosy, placed second in the landscape category at the Austin Pastel Society's annual juried show today. It's quite an honor as there were many other very fine landscape paintings in the exhibit.
In addition to sketchbooks and other pastel surfaces, I received a gift certificate towards my favorite pastels by Terry Ludwig...I can't wait to order additional new colors to paint my next cloudscape.

WOW!! Good for you, Zanne! That is really quite an honor in THAT show!! I'm so proud of you - tho' not surprised! This painting is absolutely gorgeous! If and when you go to sell it, I want first 'dibs,' hear?

Thanks!! I've already got a client interested in this piece from the show...if that doesn't go through I have another client in GA who wants it...then you're next! Guess I'll have to start making prints! ;-)

Well, of course I knew about this ahead of time, since I was on the "jurying committee"- although there wasn't anything we had to do, but Liz shared her decision process with us. I'm so pleased about your award-Liz loved the wonderful energizing spring colors (coming from the frozen North!!!), and the great composition, too. That's awesome! Those colors are gorgeous. I'm glad you are getting some more pastels as part of your prize so you can keep coaxing these scenes out of your mind's eye. ;) Otherwise the rest of us would miss out!
